While the work on the survey is continuing, I published an article delving more into the importance of identity as an area that my firm has been spending more time in lately. When we look at the tech side of the post-integration work, one of the areas that is fairly critical and yet doesn’t fit into a nice box is more than just the apps and the data, but the users that will be interacting with the systems.

Think about it this way, who are your users, where are they stored, and how do your apps (both those that power your company and the ones being conveyed) allow them access?

In other words, this is the glue.

If you treat it as data to be migrated or apps to be migrated, then you are missing that middle layer, and that is going to bite you.

I’m still playing around with AI for not just the background research, but also fleshing out the future articles to publish. I have been playing around with Cursor to flesh out some simple scripts to help me review code and configs for my clients where I won’t need access to their network. I’m still amazed at how quickly the turn around time was for this program. I am also surprised that it burned a monthly allocation in the course of a 1 hour vibe session generating 1.2m tokens.

From the post-integration standpoint, I do see this speeding things up considerably, but I also see some caveats to keep an eye out for (the next post).

Lastly, the archives have been opened up at: https://tech-diligence.blog/archives/ It only goes up to February 2025 which is when the list was initially paused. Due to a not so recent move, half the code that went in to distributing this list got lost, so it’ll take some time to get the last few emails added to the list.
