Measure twice, cut once

Continuing yesterday’s conversation, I was prompted by the exercises my client is going through right now in anticipation of their go-live event.

They’ve gone through a considerable amount of prep and planning:

• Multiple workshops and meetings to build out and vet their checklists
• Pre-pre deployment checks to identify and push out the stuff that won’t impact the core business or end users
• Pre-deployment exercise to simulate what the cutover will look like

Lastly, they go through the normal deployment/release cycle prep and exercise.

As the carpenter’s adage goes:
