Once the deal is about to be announced, a flurry of activity happens: budgets are carved out, and initial time-tables are set.
How much are these time-tables and budgets based on the gut feel, or if data driven, based on expected number of people to help with the transition?
Once the deal is hammered out, then it is just an implementation detail left to others. Shouldn’t be too hard, right?
Yet that is the part that becomes critical to realizing the goals of the deal to begin with.
My question to you is where in the planning do you look at the tech stack, and how much of it is treated as obvious?
